NDIS legislation update: Australian parliment house

Key Updates in NDIS Legislation

Keeping abreast of changes in National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) legislation is vital to our commitment to providing exceptional support at Lifely. That’s why we’re sharing important news that could significantly affect the NDIS environment.

On 27 March 2024, the Hon. Bill Shorten MP, Minister for the NDIS, introduced new legislation to Parliament. These proposed changes aim to implement key recommendations from the NDIS Review and clarify existing legislation to align with the original intent of the Scheme.

While there are no immediate changes to the NDIS framework, the proposed legislation will undergo consideration by parliament. The Albanese Government has said that people directly affected by decisions about the Scheme will continue to play a vital role in shaping reforms. This includes ongoing consultation with the disability community and collaborative design efforts with the NDIA to ensure smooth implementation.

At Lifely, we remain committed to staying informed and adapting to changes in the NDIS landscape to better serve our participants. As always, we’re here to support you on your NDIS journey. Stay tuned for further updates, and feel free to reach out to us with any questions or concerns.

For those seeking more detailed information, a press release can be found on the NDIS website.
