Your Trusted NDIS-Registered Supported Independent Living Provider

Choosing an NDIS-registered Supported Independent Living provider like Lifely ensures you receive safe, high-quality care from a trusted organisation that meets strict government standards. Registered providers follow clear safeguards, reducing the risk of fraud and poor service.

With all SIL providers soon required to be NDIS-registered following the NDIS review, many unregistered, fly-by-night providers will exit the industry. Now is the perfect time to switch to a trusted, registered provider like Lifely—so you’re not left without support if your current provider closes.

How Our SIL Process Works

  1. Initial Meeting – Meet our team, discuss your home and living goals, and talk about the support you need.
  2. Gather Information – We work with you to collect necessary details to plan your care.
  3. Roster of Care – We create a Roster of Care, outlining when and how your support is provided.
  4. NDIS Approval – Your NDIS planner reviews and approves your Roster of Care.
  5. Living Independently – Once approved, we help set up your supports, recruit staff, and prepare your home. On average, it takes 12 weeks to get your Supported Independent Living services fully running.

How to Get Supported Independent Living Through the NDIS

Supported Independent Living is NDIS-funded support for people who need help every day to live at home. However, not everyone can get Supported Independent Living funding—it’s only approved for those who really need full-time support to live safely and independently.

To apply for Supported Independent Living, talk to your NDIS planner about your living situation and what support you need at home. You might also need a report from an occupational therapist or another health professional to show that Supported Independent Living is the best option for you.

Your NDIS planner will review your goals, diagnosis, and reports to decide if Supported Independent Living is suitable. If Supported Independent Living isn’t approved, they will suggest other types of support that may work better for your needs.

How is Supported Independent Living Funded in Your NDIS Plan?

Supported Independent Living funding is included under:

  • Core Supports – Assistance with Daily Life

You can read more about Core Supports on the NDIS website.

Unlike other funding that you can spend flexibly, SIL money is set aside specifically for your support needs and can’t be used for other services.

The amount of Supported Independent Living funding you get depends on:

  • How much support you need each day (low, medium, or high level)
  • Whether you live alone or in a shared home
  • How many hours of support you require

Supported Independent Living budgets can be anywhere from $80,000 to over $400,000 per year, depending on your needs. If your plan doesn’t include Supported Independent Living but you think you need it, talk to your NDIS planner as soon as possible and start collecting evidence to support your request.

You can find more information about Supported Independent Living on the NDIS website or in the Supported independent living guideline .
