Description
Grab your mates, your sense of humour, and maybe a tissue for those laugh-so-hard tears – it is time for a night of comedy, bold stories, and a cheeky dose of truth-telling as we celebrate International Day of People with Disabilities.
Stand Up for Inclusion is Bendigo’s funniest comedy night of the year, where lived experience meets laugh-out-loud comedy. Every performer brings their own brilliant take on life with disability or neurodiversity, proving that humour, honesty, and heart make the perfect mix.
The Bendigo community told us they wanted more spaces for performers with lived experience to take the spotlight and share stories that hit close to home. We listened. This is comedy that is raw, real, and proudly says “Nothing about us without us.”
Your host
Ben Reid – Local actor and regular performer with Bendigo Theatre Company. Ben served on the City of Greater Bendigo Youth Council in 2023 and is a young man on the rise.
Featuring
James G Warren – Winner of Class Clowns at the 2013 Melbourne International Comedy Festival. Since moving from Hobart to Melbourne, James has developed a relaxed style and sharp timing that keep audiences laughing from start to finish.
Oliver Hunter (Headliner) – Oliver has been sharing stories about life with a disability for over ten years. When not on stage, he works as a disability awareness consultant, advocate, keynote speaker, and podcast host. Or, as he likes to say, he is “the guy you get when you cannot afford Dylan Alcott.”
